About KCEAA

The Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority is a non-profit organization created in 1977 by the Kanawha County Commission under the Emergency Services Act of 1975. 

Our MISSION is to provide professional health care and support services while maintaining a standard of excellence.

Our GOAL is to enhance the quality of life for all we serve.

Our ROLE within the community is to promote growth and development, to prevent accidents and illness through education and to alleviate suffering.

Our VISION is a community where wellness, trust and harmony are the way of life.

KCEAA employs 225 full-time EMT’s, Paramedics and support staff. We have 35 licensed ambulances operating out of 14 Stations.  At peak, 30 ambulances are staffed with an EMT and a Paramedic. Last year, we answered approximately 70,000 requests and transported approximately 60,000 patients. Our response time is 8 minutes 90% of the time.
