The Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority runs its own communications center, fielding about 600 calls daily to coordinate the transport of patients throughout the region.
These communicators work several radio, telephone and computer systems to provide the following services:
The Communications Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and all are certified in Emergency Medical Dispatch, to allow them to provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers, if required.
The KCEAA Communications Center also serves as the back-up center for Metro 911.
Comm Center personnel field requests for non-emergency transports.
